OpenAI has added a feature in ChatGPT that allows users to disable chat history. If users turn on this feature, their conversations won’t be used to improve our models or appear in the history sidebar. Users can find this control in the settings and turn it on or off anytime they want. This new process makes it easier to manage user data, and OpenAI will retain new conversations for 30 days to monitor for abuse before deleting them permanently.
Additionally, OpenAI is working on a ChatGPT Business subscription that provides professionals and enterprises with greater control over their data. This subscription will comply with our API’s data usage policies, and user data won’t be used to improve our models by default. ChatGPT Business will be launched in the upcoming months.
Finally, OpenAI has added an Export option in settings that simplifies exporting ChatGPT data and helps users understand the information that ChatGPT stores. Users will receive an email with a file containing their conversations and other relevant data.
